Tate County voters in need of government-issued identification can soon pick up free voter identification cards.
According to Circuit Court Clerk Eddie Hadskey, the Circuit Court’s Office will begin issuing ID cards in January to those who lack a government-issued ID.
Hadskey said that Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann would like the voter IDs to be in use by the primary elections in June of 2014. According to Hadskey, his office has already received some of the equipment to begin manufacturing the IDs, and mentioned that his office staff would be going through voter ID training in Jackson in January.
