Twin Creeks finalizes agreement with state

An agreement has been struck between the Twin Creeks solar company and the state of Mississippi, which one Senatobia alderman has called a "win-win" deal for the city.

Senatobia Mayor Alan Callicott said during a recent meeting of the Board of Aldermen that the State of Mississippi Governor's Office, Mississippi Development Authority and Twin Creeks have been working hard for the last few months to come to a final agreement on the finish of the working contract between the company and the state.

The solar company announced plans to build a solar facility in Senatobia in 2010, with promises to bring more than 500 jobs to the city. Instead a maximum of 25 people were employed at its peak, before the company announced its plans to leave due to a solar market, which had been flooded due to Chinese rates lower than would be profitable in the United States.
