Mildred June Callicott


Mildred June "Junie" Callicott, 72, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away January 16, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - DeSoto. Services were held Monday, January 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial followed in Bethesda Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Bradley of Senatobia; daughter, Pamela Seitz of Miami, Fla.; sons, Tony Seitz of Wall, S.D., and Darrin Seitz of Senatobia; sisters, Bunny Vowels, Esther Gelhausen, and Vernie Trotter; bothers, Mike Schumm and Bob Schumm both of Dale, Ind.; grandchildren, Christian Seitz, Alicia Seitz, Candice Leon, April Bailey, Tony Seitz, Jr., and Sherrie Seitz; and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Callicott and her parents, Louis and Lucille Schumm.


Robert Christopher McArthur


Robert "Kit" Christopher McArthur, 55, of Sardis, Miss., passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013.

Funeral services for "Kit" will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19 at Wells Funeral Home.

He was a construction worked and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

To cherish his memory, he leaves two daughters, Ashley McArthur Stevens of Senatobia, and Elizabeth Meirelles of Portsmouth, Va.; two sons, Justin McArthur of Macon, Tenn. and Matthew Forest Survillo of Palo Alto, Calif.; one sister, Dayle McArthur Tenhet of London, Ky.; and two grandchildren, Mary Grace McArthur and Noah Stevens.


Thomas Glynn Oswalt


Thomas Glynn Oswalt passed away Monday, January 14, 2013, with his loving family at his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents Howard Glynn and Pauline Sorrells Oswalt, and a sister, Frieda Oswalt Kersey.

Tom was born in Lambert, Mississippi, on December 29, 1943. His childhood home was Sledge, Mississippi, where he graduated valedictorian of his high school class. After attending Northwest Community College, Tom continued his education at Mississippi State University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Poultry Science and a Master's Degree in Extension Education.

He is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Mary Hudspeth Oswalt; a son, Jeffrey Glynn Oswalt (Angie) of Olive Branch, Mississippi; a daughter, Leanne Oswalt McQuown (Jed) of Memphis, Tennessee; and four grandchildren, Max Oswalt, Kristen Oswalt, Lauren Oswalt and Lillian McQuown; and his long term care giver, Sabrina Johnson.

Tom began his career with Mississippi State Extension Service as an Assistant County Agent in Panola County. He became a Horticulture Specialist for a seven-county area in North Mississippi. He retired from the University of Tennessee as a Horticulture Specialist.

Tom is remembered for his weekly garden feature on WMC-TV's Action News 5, formerly "Wake-Up Call."

Visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, at Ray-Nowell Funeral Home in Senatobia. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 18, in the First United Methodist Church in Senatobia. Burial followed in Senatobia Memorial Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, PO Box 663, Senatobia, Mississippi 38668. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


Hulene Ferguson Perry


Hulene Ferguson Perry, age 87, of Olive Branch, Miss., passed away January 4, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Perry; her son, Michael Perry, both of Olive Branch; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie A. Ferguson; and a brother, Correll Ferguson.

She leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Tom Irons of Olive Branch; a sister, Bonnie McMullen (JW) of Eupora, Miss.; and was the proud grandmother of Angela Irons who currently resides in Palo Alto, Calif. and Hunter Irons of Olive Branch.

She will be greatly missed.

During her lifetime she was a teacher at Olive Branch High School, worked for Federal Compress, Memphis Police Department, Clevepack Corporation, and Mid South Adhesives, where she retired.

She was buried in Blocker Cemetery in Olive Branch.


Stella Coalburn Rowe


Stella Coalburn Rowe, 68, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away January 15, 2013 at her residence. Services were held Friday, January 18, at 1:30 pm. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial followed in Surrette Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Nolan Merritt Rowe of Senatobia; daughter, Beverly Rowe Still of Arkabutla; son, Nolan Row, Jr. of Hernando; brothers, Ray Yount of Destin, Fla., and Gene Yount of Flippin, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Rowe was a long time member of Little Texas Baptist Church.
